WHAT IT HAULS
Haul lumber, drywall, fencing and pavers
Sixteen-foot boards lie flat. Drywall, plywood, fence panels and pallets of pavers ride level and strapped.
Why a 16-foot deck matters for materials
Most building materials come in 8-, 12- and 16-foot lengths, and a pickup bed handles none of them well. On this trailer a 16-foot board lies flat on the deck, 4 × 8 sheets of plywood and drywall lie flat two across, and a pallet of pavers or retaining-wall block sets right on with a forklift at the supplier.
Loading materials
- Sheet goods go down first, flat, then dimensional lumber on top, heaviest centered over the axles.
- Payload is approximately 5,000 lbs. A pallet of pavers can weigh a ton and a half or more, so ask the yard for the weight.
- Five ratchet straps are included; run at least two across sheet goods so they cannot lift at highway speed.
Contractors and DIYers
Weekend builders rent for a day ($75). Contractors on a fence or deck job take it for the week ($440, about $63 a day) and let us deliver it to the site from $25 so the crew truck stays free. Pickup in West Little Rock by appointment.
